Welcome to Quiet Forge. These Terms of Service reflect our philosophy: software should be straightforward, honest, and respectful of your rights. We've written these terms in plain language because we believe legal agreements shouldn't require a law degree to understand.

Our Core Principles

Your License

When you purchase a Quiet Forge app, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, perpetual license to:

• Use the app on any devices you personally own or control
• Receive all future updates and improvements at no additional cost
• Use the app offline without any restrictions
• Export your data in open, portable formats at any time

You may not redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer our apps. But honestly, if you're technical enough to reverse-engineer our apps, we'd rather you just reach out and we can probably work something out.

Free Apps & Optional Features

Some of our apps are completely free. Others offer optional paid features. Here's our approach:

• Free apps remain free forever. We won't pull a bait-and-switch
• Optional features are clearly marked and never required for core functionality
• We'll never lock you out of your own data if you don't pay
• All pricing is upfront and transparent. No hidden costs

Refunds

All Quiet Forge app purchases are made through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policy, not ours. Apple handles all refund requests directly. We have no ability to process or approve refunds for App Store transactions.

To request a refund:

1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
2. Sign in with your Apple ID
3. Find the purchase and select "Report a Problem"
4. Follow Apple's refund request process

Apple typically reviews refund requests within 48 hours. Refund eligibility and timeframes are determined solely by Apple according to their policies. While we can't control this process, we're happy to answer questions about our apps at [email protected].

What We Don't Do

To be crystal clear, Quiet Forge does NOT:

• Track your behavior or usage patterns
• Sell your data to advertisers or third parties
• Use analytics or telemetry (even anonymized)
• Require internet connectivity for core features
• Send you marketing emails without explicit consent
• Expire your license or software access
• Inject ads or sponsored content into our apps

User Conduct

We trust you to use our software responsibly. Don't use our apps to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise our services or other users
• Automate usage in ways that could harm our infrastructure (if applicable to future services)

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to [email protected]. We take security seriously and appreciate responsible disclosure.

Disclaimers (The Legal Stuff)

Our apps are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make our software reliable, but we can't guarantee it will be error-free or available 100% of the time.

Limitation of Liability: We're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our software. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app (or $50, whichever is greater).

Translation: We're a small indie studio doing our best. If something goes wrong, we'll work with you to make it right, but we can't be held responsible for catastrophic damages.

Intellectual Property

All Quiet Forge apps, designs, logos, and content are our intellectual property or used with permission. You're welcome to share screenshots, write reviews, or discuss our apps publicly. Just don't claim our work as your own or use our branding to mislead others.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through our website or app (without using invasive notifications. We'll respect your attention).

Continued use of our apps after changes means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can stop using our apps (and request a refund if within 30 days of purchase).

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Quiet Forge operates. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If that fails, we'll pursue binding arbitration or mediation before resorting to litigation.
